1. Shop Around & Look at all your Options

Do not simply sign renewal papers with your current lender!

When your renewal papers come in the mail, please understand that your current lender hasn't offered you the best terms available. Don't just sign and mail them back, to get the best deal… you need to look at all your options first!

2. Interest Rate

Most Canadians are conditioned to think that the lowest interest rate means the best mortgage product.…

Calgary & Area as well as Red Deer & Area CIR REALTY Real Estate Reviews for the month of April, 2019.

Market Summary:

We are thankful to see that March was able to shake off the bitter cold Winter blues that February brought to the markets! Spring has sprung and the market is responding with a steady month over month increase in sales across Central and Southern Alberta.

As we look at trends developing, we are looking at three major factors. First, the new listing inventory coming onto the market, which has slowed year over year more so than the slow down in sales. This is helping slow the rising inventory levels that we have experienced through the first quarter of 2019, which in turn will help with stabilizing prices further. The…

Calgary Real Estate Statistics from CREB Communications:

City of Calgary, April 1, 2019 –

March saw a modest decline in city wide sales activity compared to last year. However, sales have been rising for more affordable product in the detached and attached sectors.

Shifts in the lower end of the market have not outweighed easing across the higher priced product. First-quarter sales dropped to 3,108 units. This is nine per cent below last year and 28 per cent below typical levels of activity.

Price declines and relatively slow sales activity are impacting the number of new listings. For the second consecutive month, new listings eased compared to last year’s levels and long-term trends, but it was not enough to prevent inventory growth.

There are many other reasons why we love Calgary. But we've mapped out our top 10 reasons for living in Calgary and why we excited to call Calgary Home!

10. One of the Sunniest Major cities in Canada

Although the biggest topic that we often talk about, or the first thing we talk to strangers about, it's the weather. We often talk about how hot, or how cold (more often than not) it is outside. We do not factor into account that we are one the sunniest major cities in Canada - enjoying an average of just under 2,400 hours of bright sun each year, spread over 333 days, and over 52 percent of daylight hours that are sunny (source: https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/the-sunniest-cities-in-canada.html). Not to brag, but I personally think we have…

Green Lawn Care Tips

When the snow starts to melt and the sun comes out earlier. It's time to get the lawn ready for summer. Spring is a great time to prepare your lawn to be healthier and greener, especially when rain starts to fall.

Keep in mind your grass has been through a lot during the winter, with freezing temperatures, snowfall and ice all wreaked havoc on your lawn. It's going to require some nurturing to bring it back to life. Nurturing your lawn doesn't mean that you need to treat it with chemical fertilizers and weed killers that can contaminate the waterways and leach in the ground. There are many earth-friendly ways to grow a thick and beautiful law.

1. Watering: Make sure that you water your lawn long enough to penetrate the soil at least 4-6 inches…

Lighting Tips

Listings need to be presented in the best possible light – literally. Space and natural light are two qualities that home buyers are always looking for

One the first things that I ensure that my clients do - REPLACE THOSE BURNT light bulbs – in ceiling and wall fixtures, table and floor lamps.

In the game of First Impressions, a poorly lit homes is a huge disadvantage. Darkness can make a home feel small and uninviting, even if it isn’t. Photos may not pop for potential buyers want to book a showing if the photos are darker.

The most disparaging bulbs are the unflattering, cool greenish-tinged bulbs because the colours are too strong.

The best bulbs to use are 2700-3000 K LED bulbs (the Kelvin scale number is listed on the package), making a…
